Each ornament is handmade in a small workshop by skilled artisans, with production coordinated by our long-term partner Lorna. The unpolished capiz shells are carefully trimmed and assembled into elegant festive shapes, including hanging ornaments, strings, wreaths and freestanding pieces. We highly value a close, personal relationship with our supplier. Each year we visit the workshop in person, where we review and discuss working conditions and related matters together. These relationships are important to us, and together with our suppliers we share the aim of continuing to work towards the best possible conditions for people and the environment. We source natural capiz shell from selected suppliers. Each shipment is accompanied by an Export Commodity Clearance issued by the Philippine Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), documenting compliance with applicable regulations.
