Shells Cafe 2010 - 2026 and beyond...

For more than 16 years, Shells has been part of daily life in Strandhill. What began as a small café by the sea has grown into a place where locals and visitors come together over good food, fresh baking, coffee, and conversation.

Behind Shells are Jane and Myles, a husband and wife team who have shaped the café from the beginning. Together they've created a space that reflects their love of food, hospitality, creativity, and community.

Myles is an experienced chef and baker whose influence can be found throughout the menu, from daily baking and seasonal dishes to the larger catering events that Shells has become known for.

More often than not, he's behind the scenes in the kitchen, doing what he loves most.

Jane is usually the person welcoming customers through the door. Known for her friendly nature and eye for detail, she's at the heart of the day-to-day atmosphere of Shells. Her love of art, design, and beautiful objects also inspires Shells Little Shop, where she curates a collection of books, gifts, homewares, pantry favourites, and products from local makers.

Together, Jane and Myles continue to shape Shells as a place that feels relaxed, creative, and connected to the community around it.

"Slow summer mornings are made all the better when breakfast or brunch is eaten outdoors.Shells Café in Strandhill has been setting the pace for seaside brunch since 2010, with a generous outdoor deck and a menu built around seasonal, produce-led dishes, very good coffee and, if the mood takes you, a spritz, all looking out over the Atlantic."
